he fights for me.

i will say it once and i will say it again. younglife leadership is one of the best things in my life. i am so thankful for the way the young life staff & committee love on us and support us. they really do such a great job of investing in our lives and pursuing us. i consider the privilege i have of pursuing high school girls and pouring into them pure JOY and a gift. but sometimes i feel dry & empty and i personally need to be poured into. and that is exactly what i get when i go to leadership. they encourage and love on and pour into US. leadership blesses me so much. i love walking away every time we meet feeling so encouraged + challenged.

last week we had our leadership christmas party. it was such a great night. we had it at an art emporium in downtown knoxville. i love exploring downtown & i have never been to this place before! it was such an artsy building with exposed brick on the inside + lots of twinkling lights. you know i loved it! we had a deeeeeeelish dinner, sang some beautiful christmas carols + heard a great message. and for christmas every leader got a new bible! thats one of those gifts where years down the road you look at it & know exactly where it came from and are reminded of sweet memories. im thankful for that.

my favorite song we sang that night: (immanuel)
he fights for breath he fights for me
loosing sinners from the claims of hell
and with a shout our souls are free
death defeated by immanuel.

i am so glad to be reminded that jesus fights for me. he fought to save me from the claims of hell and he continues to fight for me. i have got to learn to rest in that. i needed to hear that.

know that jesus fights for you.

  1. I am so grateful for the Younglife ministry too! Now that I have been volunteering, I cannot imagine life without it! I love how it reminds me of the small things too! Too often I do not take enough time to study Him, but our leader's quick little talk always managed to be exactly what I need to hear!

  2. Hey girl...cute cute blog! I am a leader in Murfreesboro and stumbled across your blog. We have our leadership Christmas this Saturday and I'm super excited! I'm loving the advent devotional Steve Chesney gave us this year. Also, my friend Caycee is in all your pictures! Small world!?

Anyways, just wanted to leave you a little note of encouragement, your blog is just adorable! Come on over to mine & follow if you get a chance!
